The Faculties of Social Sciences and Languages, Performing Arts & Media, and the Literary Club collaborated to host a live concert by famous Sufi singer Sardar Ali. The show was arranged in Mahapragya Hall and inaugurated by Honourable Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, along with Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh, Director Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages Dr. Devinder Kumar, and Director Performing Arts and Media Dr. Surjeet Kaur Patheja, by lighting the lamp.
Dr. Devinder Kumar, in his welcome address, warmly welcomed honourable dignitaries, guests, and the singer. He highlighted in detail the history of Sufi poetry and its significance as mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He elaborated on how Sufi singing is itself the chanting of the name of Allah. He also introduced the audience to the singer, Sardar Ali. The Sufi legend, Sardar Ali, began his singing in the packed hall by remembering God, followed by power-packed performances one by one.
The honourable Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh greeted the singer and praised his Sufi kalams in his address. He congratulated the department for organizing such a wonderful event. The Pro Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, blessed everyone on the occasion and cherished the divine singing of Sardar Ali. The show was a grand success. The audience enjoyed the show to the fullest and longed for more such performances in the future.
