This year, Sara Ali Khan, along with several other Bollywood celebrities, made their first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. The actress gracefully walked the red carpet in a stunning lehenga designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. In addition to attending various parties and galas, Sara had the opportunity to immerse herself in the esteemed French festival. She had encounters with artists from Lebanon and Egypt, and even had the chance to meet the renowned Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
During the Cannes Film Festival, Leonardo DiCaprio participated in the premiere of his film “Killers of the Flower Moon,” directed by Martin Scorsese. Similar to Sara’s experience, he was seen at numerous Cannes parties, including the notable amfAR gala. Additionally, Sara attended the Red Sea Women in Cinema Gala, which was in association with Vanity Fair. She delivered a speech in front of the attendees while adorned in an elegant Rachel Gilbert gown.
The actor conveyed her insights from her first Cannes experience, highlighting the valuable lessons she learned. She expressed that she discovered the significance of each country’s culture, not just in theory but through observing its celebration firsthand. Interacting with actors from various countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, and Paris, as well as meeting Leonardo DiCaprio, left a lasting impression on her. She emphasized that despite the national differences, the universal passion for cinema unites everyone, surpassing any form of nationalistic boundaries.
Additionally, Sara expressed her desire to walk the red carpet alongside another Hollywood star. She mentioned, “Though you mentioned Hollywood, right now, the only person I would say is Vicky Kaushal. But if we’re talking about Hollywood, it would be Ryan Gosling. I have this habit of always giving the exact answer that comes to my mind!”
Regarding Sara’s upcoming projects, she will be seen sharing the screen with Vicky Kaushal in Laxman Utekar’s film “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” set to release in theaters on June 2, 2023. Her most recent film was “Gaslight,” available on Disney+ Hotstar, where she acted alongside Vikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh. Additionally, she has a Prime Video film titled “Ae Watan Mere Watan,” in which she portrays the role of the freedom fighter Usha Mehta. Sara made her acting debut in 2018 with the film “Kedarnath,” co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput.
