The entry-level Samsung Galaxy M04 is here and available in India under Rs 10,000. The device is aimed at those who want a basic phone with decent features and long-term software support with a price starting in the range of Rs 8,000 in the country. Here is everything you need to know about the new Galaxy M04 smartphone.
With its latest offering, Samsung is promising to provide two years of major Android upgrades. Long-term software support could help the company attract more customers, a strategy that Samsung followed for premium phones too. In this price range, you will hardly find phones that are promising to offer up to two years of Android updates.
The new Samsung phone ships with Android 12 OS, which means that it should get up to Android 14 OS because of two years of Android support. This is something that a lot of users will support. The Samsung Galaxy M04 has a massive battery and a display that refreshes at 90Hz. The panel operates at HD+ resolution and has a waterdrop-style notched design.
The overall design is pretty generic, which is fine because this is an entry-level phone. There is no camera module at the back of the smartphone and Samsung just placed the sensors on the rear panel, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra model. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, which is backed by 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The company has given the option to expand the internal storage via a microSD card. The new Samsung phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor too.
In terms of optics, there is a dual rear camera setup, including a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel camera. On the front, the Galaxy M04 is equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor. Under the hood, it features a typical 5,000mAh battery and the company has provided support for 15W charging. This charger will likely take a little longer to top up the battery, but people will have to comprise because they want a big battery and the company can’t provide a fast charger in the ultra-affordable segment.
The Samsung Galaxy M04 is priced at Rs 8,499 in India, which is for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The entry-level smartphone will be up for sale on December 16 and interested buyers will be able to get it via Amazon. The handset will be sold in four colours, including Mint Green, Gold White, and Blue.
