JANUARY 18 (Gulistan News Tv) : In today’s section of Salaam JK on Gulistan News, we explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today participate in an event organized under the Swamitva scheme from Delhi and distribute property cards to 65 lakh people of 12 states and union territories, including Jammu and Kashmir. This program will start at 12:30 pm and communication with the beneficiaries will also be done through video conferencing.
Swamitva Yojana is a central scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, which aims to create accurate maps of land and legally issue property cards in rural areas using drone technology. This helps in reducing disputes related to land and property and clarifying ownership rights.
Earlier this program was to be held on 27 December 2024, but it was postponed due to the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Now it has been rescheduled to 18 January 2025.
The objective of the scheme is to resolve property disputes, provide legal rights and benefit people belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG), and Middle Income Group (MIG) in rural and urban areas.
