Sachin Tendulkar pays visit to Kashmir’s Bat Factory

Legendary Indian batsperson Sachin Tendulkar paid a visit to the Bat Manufacturing Factory at Charsoo area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.

Tendulkar visited MJ Sports factory in Chersoo area today and interacted with the workers there. MJ Sports factory, which manufactures bats, is owned by two brothers Manzoor and Javid of Chersoo.

Tendulkar was with his wife and daughter Sara Tendulkar. The trio also enjoyed tea during their visit to the factory

Notably, Kashmir’s bat industry is mainly concentrated in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Anantnag districts, with willow groves growing in the wet highlands nearby.

Around 200 bat manufacturing units engage around 50,000 people for production.

Cut willow logs can be seen lining either side of the Srinagar-Jammu Highway in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

On Friday, Tendulkar and his wife Anjali were seen at the Taj Mahal in Agra.
