Officials reported the discovery of a corroded mortar shell in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, near the International Border.
On Sunday, it was disclosed that Border Security Force (BSF) personnel unearthed the mortar shell while conducting construction work in the Chadwal area of the Border Outpost.
Late Saturday evening, a controlled explosion was carried out by the bomb disposal squad to safely dispose of the shell, resulting in no harm or destruction.
