A senior official from Moscow also issued a warning that their forces were ready for an anticipated Ukrainian counterattack in the upcoming weeks.
In the town of Kostiantynivka located in Ukraine’s Donetsk province, a Russian missile struck an aid station resulting in the deaths of five individuals. The aid station was established by Ukrainian authorities last year as one of many “points of invincibility” to assist locals impacted by the war by providing amenities such as phone charging, snacks, and warmth.
The administration of the northeast region reported that a nighttime rocket and artillery barrage and air strikes in the town of Bilopillia located in the Sumy province of Ukraine resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to nine others.
During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the southern Kherson region on Thursday, Russian shelling caused the death of one person in the main city of Kherson, and another person was killed with four others wounded in the town of Bilozerka.
At least nine people were killed in a Russian drone attack on a high school and dormitories located south of Kyiv on Wednesday. Ukrainian forces plan to use the improved spring weather and recently received modern weaponry, including tanks and ammunition from their Western allies, to initiate a counteroffensive aimed at removing Russian troops from the occupied regions of Ukraine.
