Russian missile strike hit an apartment in Ukraine, killing 8 people

Russian Missile Strike: On Monday night, Russian missiles twice targeted Pokrovsk in central Ukraine, leaving eight people dead, including five civilians.

Forty minutes after the first missile struck the town near the frontline that was under Ukraine’s control, the governor said. Both first responders were killed and injured.

Among those dead were two rescuers and a member of the military. Although 31 people were hurt, including a member of the local municipal council, most of them were civilians, according to Ukrainian officials, including nine police officers and one member of the military.

Survivors statements: Lidia, a 75-year-old homeowner, claimed to have been on the phone when the second explosion occurred. She had retrieved a shattered white curtain that was covered with glass from the floor. “All of a sudden, stuff flew out and around me. Then, when I was seated on my sofa, the window fell on me.

“I have cuts on my back. I recently returned from the hospital. My thigh and knee both have cuts. She pointed to her head and said, “I had glass here.

Pokrovsk resident Kateryna, 58, was at home when she heard the first bomb and believed that she had been spared from the attack. Even though she claimed to be okay when someone called to check on her, the location was suddenly attacked a second time. “Bang, that’s it; that’s all. My eyes were filled with flame. I stumbled and hit the ground and floor. In an interview, Kateryna pointed to numerous scratches covering her eyes and said, “My eyes (hurt) a lot. Her forehead was wrapped in bandages.
