Ruckus in J&K Assembly Continues for Third Day, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed Marshalled Out Amid Uproar

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was again engulfed in chaos for the third consecutive day as opposition MLAs Sheikh Khursheed , Sajad Gani Lone, Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Waheed Ur Rehman Parra raised slogans demanding that a resolution be tabled for the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Tensions escalated when Sheikh Khursheed, MLA from Langate and brother of Baramulla MP Er. Rasheed, was marshalled out of the House following intense verbal clashes.

The Assembly session witnessed heated exchanges between opposition members and BJP MLAs with a near-clash erupting as marshals stepped in to control the situation. Opposition MLAs have been relentless in their demand for a resolution to restore Article 370 and 35A, which were repealed on August 5, 2019, as part of the J&K Reorganization Act.

Opposition leaders argue that the removal of Article 370 and 35A stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its constitutional rights and identity and they have vowed to keep pressing for its reversal. The marshaling out of MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed sparked further outcry from the opposition, amplifying demands for a discussion on the resolution.
