Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel successfully foiled a weapon-snatching attempt by Devinder Singh, a murder-accused out on bail, at Jammu Railway Station. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening following a verbal altercation. Singh, a resident of Kathua currently living in Nanak Nagar, Jammu, tried to seize a weapon from an RPF constable. A case was registered on Thursday.
“He attacked RPF constable Mohan Lal with a sharp-edged weapon and attempted to take his weapon. Despite sustaining injuries, the RPF constable successfully thwarted the attempt. The accused was overpowered by RPF personnel before he could flee. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera,” police stated.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at the Railway Police Station against Devinder Singh, the murder accused who was out on bail on health grounds.
