Rohit Sharma wanted MI to peak now, not at the start: Cameron Green after MI win IPL Eliminator

MI win IPL Eliminator: Australian all-rounder Cameron Green hit 41 of 23 balls in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League. Cameron Green’s terrific counter-attack after MI lost two quick wickets in the Eliminator on Wednesday, 24 May set up a strong total for the team against Lucknow Super Giants. Green top-scored for the side in their 81-run win over LSG at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, in Chennai.

Green added 66 off just 38 balls alongside Suryakumar Yadav, the biggest partnership of the night between the two teams combined. Asked about the experience of playing at MI and batting with SKY, Green said that it was the easiest thing in the world.

“It is the easiest job batting with him (Suryakumar Yadav). Obviously a beautiful wicket and you want to get him on strike. That is what my plan is and if I get a loose ball, try and hit it. It is as simple as that,” the Australian all-rounder told the host broadcaster.

Green spoke about his own form in the IPL, which has peaked at the right time. Green has top-scored for the team in the last two matches, first with a century against SRH in the last league stage game and then on Wednesday, vs LSG.

MI captain Rohit Sharma said in the post-match presentation that he always believed that MI would be in the IPL 2023 play-offs this season, their first time since title-winning campaign in 2020. Asked about Rohit’s impact on the team, Green reiterated the same and said that Rohit has an incredible ability to calm the nerves in the dressing room.
