JANUARY 19(Gulistan News Tv) : The authorities in Sirnoo area of south Kashmir’s district pulwama identified about 112 kanals of State land some years ago and promised an establishment of 100 bedded maternity hospital in the area to cater the increasing health concerns of women’s of two districts pulwama and shopian but till date no progress has ben made on the project.The project has been a longstanding demand of people of Pulwama and shopian district to reduce the referrals to hospitals in Srinagar and Anantnag.

The authorities had sanctioned projects of District Library and Indoor Stadium in the area on which the work is going on at fast pace but the people of the area are demanding the project for which they have been promised when the authorities identified the land in the area.Mohd Ashraf a local of the area said that authorities promised us the establishment of Maternity hospital in the area at the time of identification of the land but till date no progress has been made on the project. He said that the establishment of Maternity hospital will alleviate the pressure on LD hospital srinagar as it will cater the two districts of south Kashmir and requested for authorities attention towards their promise.

Edjaz Ahmad another local of the area said that the projects on which the construction work is going on in the area is a good step but authorities should fulfill their promise of constructing Maternity hospital in the area as it is the long pending demand of two districts of south Kashmir.The residents of the area requested Leutinant governer administration and Omar obdullaha led Government to pay attention towards the isuue and fulfill the promise made to the people of the district.
