Sanjay Shorey, the Regional Director responsible for the northern region of the Union Corporate Affairs Ministry, conducted a thorough field inspection by visiting the Registrar of Companies office in Srinagar. This visit provided Shorey with valuable insights into the operations of the office, which has been functioning in the Kashmir valley since September 2019 and has jurisdiction over all districts in the region. Additionally, the office serves as the official liquidator attached to the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

During the visit, Haamid Bukhari, the officer in charge of the station, took the opportunity to give Shorey a comprehensive overview of the office’s activities. Bukhari highlighted the status of ongoing inquiries, inspections, and investigations related to corporates and companies. He provided detailed information about the office’s overall functioning and shared the details of prosecutions initiated against defaulting companies and corporates in lower courts.

Expressing his appreciation for the office’s operations, the Regional Director commended the Registrar of Companies for their efforts and provided valuable advice for improvement. Shorey emphasized the importance of being more responsive to stakeholders and urged the office to enhance compliance in the region.

Sanjay Shorey stated, “I am impressed by the efficient functioning of the office in Srinagar. It is commendable to witness the progress made since its establishment in 2019. However, it is essential to ensure a high level of responsiveness to stakeholders and further improve compliances in order to foster a conducive business environment in the region.”
