Ravinder Raina greets Eid-ul-fitr to people

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) J&K President Ravinder Raina on Wednesday (April 10) extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr.

In a video statement, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) J&K President Ravinder Raina, said, “On the auspicious day of Eid I extend wishes from the bottom of my  heart to all the people of the country and locals.I pray that this auspicious day brings peace, prosperity, happiness and love for you all. I am wishing you all happy Eid by combining my happiness on this occasion”.

In Kathua, a large number of people congregated at the Eidgah and offered namaz. The special Eid prayers drew large crowds.

People greeted each other after the prayers and took part in the festivities. Shops in the city’s main markets, especially those around Masjid done brisk business as people shopped for the festival.

The festive spirit is palpable elsewhere in Jammu and Kashmir.

However, authorities did not allow Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in the old city, after allowing Fajr namaz and put MirWaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest.

The district administrations had made elaborate security and other necessary arrangements for the festival.

On the occasion of Eid today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today is coming to Kathua to address a rally there.

The Eid-ul-Fitr festival falls immediately after Ramadan month after the crescent moon of Shawwal is sighted. All the Muslim festivals are based on the lunar calendar, therefore, the moon sighting dates of Muslim festivals are important.

This year, Eid-ul-Fitr will likely be celebrated on April 11, 2024, while other countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, and more, will observe it on April 10, 2024.

This festival is a time of peace and celebration, and it is a time when they come together as a community marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan which is a time of spiritual reflection and celebration.
