Protest is going on in Jammu and Kashmir to increase the wages of Ration Depot dealers in the UT. The Ration dealers in Jammu have shut down the Ration Depots and there is no supply of ration to public till 16 January because the aggrieved Ration dealers are observing a strike.
In conversation with media, Ajay gupta and All India Federation member stated, “We spoke about our demand on 27 July, 2023 at Jantar Mantar with Bishambhar Basu, General Secretary of All India Federation and Pralad Bhai Modi president of All India Federation and made a movement in July 2023.”
“Our demand was that we should to be paid Rs.50000 per month or Rs.764 commission . It has been 2 years since we have given memorandum to the authorities but nothing has happened,” he further added.
Another member of All India Federal said, “This protest is not only in Jammu and Kashmir but all over India. From 1 Jan to 16 Jan depots and machines will be shut. We request the government to accept our memorandum.”
Bishambhar Basu, General Secretary of All India Federation and Pralad Bhai Modi president of All India Federation made a movement in July 2023 and asked for demands. The authorities said that they will focus on the issue. Our leaders had set certain time limits to take actions and as no action took place so we are on strike. As the leaders announced strike from 1 Jan to 16 Jan after that agricultural minister of India had a meeting with our leaders. In the morning today, we got the message that some decisions have been taken in our favour and discussion about other decisions are going on,” he added.
He stated that, “We will do what our leaders will order. We request the public to support us in our bad time because no ones’ house can survive on a meagre pay of Rs.4000 per month. Our demand is genuine and government should fulfil it.”
“In Gujarat the government accept the demand for 25-30 thousands per month for their Depot Employees and Jammu and Kashmir’s government should do the same.” he added.
