Officials have reported that in the Baramulla district of northern Kashmir, the police swiftly detained an individual accused of rape just hours after a complaint was lodged. A spokesperson for the police stated that the Baramulla Police Station received a written complaint from a minor girl (whose identity is being withheld) alleging that she had been abducted and raped by a person named Mohammad Umar Parray. The incident reportedly took place in a secluded area in Sangri.

The spokesperson mentioned that a case was registered under the relevant sections of the law at the Baramulla Police Station, initiating an investigation. During the investigation, the police utilized both technological and human resources to trace the accused, Mohammad Umar Parray, and successfully apprehended him within a short period after the complaint was submitted.

The spokesperson further indicated that necessary medical and legal procedures have been carried out, and the investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
