People of Rajasthan are suffering as doctors of private hospitals are on a strike against the state’s Right To Health Bill. Government hospitals are flooded with patients and surgeries are being put off. On Wednesday, except for the emergency department, medics of all units of private and government hospitals will boycott their work. Ajit Singh rushed his father, who had suffered a heart attack, to Jaipur from Bassi but didn’t get medical assistance at any private hospital. “I rushed my father to Jaipur from 45 kilometres away in Bassi but doctors at every private hospital that I visited refused to treat him,” said the youngster with his eyes welling up.
