Srinagar, Jan 10: Jammu and Kashmir(Gulistan News Tv): A well-known personality Advocate Raja Jehangir Ali Khan s/o Raja Mohammad Ayoub Khan of Kathidarwaza Raja Mohalla Srinagar passed away during the intervening night of 13 and 14 January 2025. He was 72. Raja Jehangir Ali was the grandson of Prince of Gilgit Raja Azur Khan.
, the community is living here since late nineteenth century. Raja Azur Khan was imprisoned in the
Hari Parbat Fort after the British and Dogra regime in Kashmir annexed the Hunza and Nagar belt in 1891.
Raja Jehangir Ali Khan had to quit his law practice because of his ill health, however, he remained active on social front. He would contribute to community development and welfare through his active interventions and wise advices. In him the local civil society lost a great advisor and an important go-to person.
Raja Jehangir Ali khan is cousin brother of Special Judge UAPA Baramulla,Raja Mohammad Tasleem Khan, father of Advocate Raja Sajid Ali Khan and brother of Advocate Raja Alamgir Ali khan,Many social and religious organisations and personalities have offered condolences to the bereaved family.
