More rainfall is predicted in several parts of the country, including Delhi, on Saturday, while floodwaters did not recede in states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Assam, as torrential downpours continued to batter these regions.
In Delhi, 0.6 mm of rainfall was recorded on Friday with the maximum and minimum temperatures pegged at 33.2 degrees Celsius and 27.1 degrees Celsius, respectively. Humidity was recorded at 75 per cent at 5:30 pm. Across North and Central India, isolated heavy rainfall was very likely in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh on July 6, Uttarakhand Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and East Madhya Pradesh between July 6 to 9, Punjab and West Madhya Pradesh on July 7, Vidarbha on July 8 and 9, and Chhattisgarh between July 7 to 9, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its daily bulletin.
