The weather improved in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as the Meteorological Department reported fresh snowfall in the ski resort of Gulmarg and rain in other parts of the Union Territories. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rains between March 29 and April 1.
After widespread rain, the sun was shining in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday afternoon. Deputy Director Meteorological Department Mukhtar Ahmed issued a weather update at 12.45 pm and said that light to moderate rain with thundershowers was recorded at most places during the last 24 hours. Data released by the Met said Gulmarg received 3.8 cm of snowfall while most parts of Jammu and Kashmir reported rain on Saturday and the following night.
South Kashmir’s Qazigund recorded 6.4 mm of rain, Jammu’s Bhadarwah recorded 21.4 mm of rain. Summer capital Srinagar recorded 4.1 mm rainfall, winter capital Jammu received hail and 12.8 mm rainfall.
