On Thursday, due to heavy rain, an aircraft with eight passengers aboard skidded off the runway at Mumbai airport. The Mumbai disaster authority reported three injuries, and those individuals have been taken to the hospital.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation stated, “VSR Ventures Learjet 45 aircraft VT-DBL, operating a flight from Vizag to Mumbai, experienced a runway excursion (veer off) during landing on runway 27 at Mumbai airport. There were 06 passengers and 02 crew members on board. Visibility was 700 meters with heavy rain.”
The aircraft was owned by an infrastructure company named Dilip Buildcon. Currently, Mumbai airport is closed for operations and is undergoing inspection.
As per preliminary information provided by the Mumbai disaster authority, the incident was alerted by the Mumbai Fire Brigade at 5:45 p.m.
“The statement revealed, “As informed by MFB and Airport Duty Officer, a small private Jet Plane VTDBL (6 passengers and 2 crew on board) skidded off the runway and crashed thereafter at Domestic Airport while landing.”
