Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has chosen speedster Jasprit Bumrah as the most valuable Indian cricketer, ahead of star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Bumrah’s remarkable performances since his return to international cricket in August 2023 have earned him this recognition.
Bumrah was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the 2023 ODI World Cup, taking 20 wickets. His form continued into 2024, where he rose to the top of the Test bowling rankings in February. His latest success came in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he played a pivotal role in India’s victorious campaign, claiming 15 wickets in eight matches with a record economy rate of 4.17. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Tournament award.
