BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today said that the school education system in Punjab government schools has collapsed completely. There is a serious shortage of school teachers even as the availability of infrastructure in government schools has become a matter of grave concern.
He said in the last year the AAP government has dismally failed to improve the condition of schools despite making tall claims.
Chugh ridiculed the decision of Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains to tour the state to understand the plight of the government schools. He said it was a purely cosmetic exercise of the minister which is meant to create a misleading impression that the state government was concerned about schools.
He said the enrolment in government schools has declined steeply following which the drop-out rate has shot up alarmingly high.
The election promises made by AAP to improve the education system have fallen flat and entire Punjab is feeling cheated by the performance of the AAP government.
