Pulwama Police Arrests 03 Drug Peddlers, Recovers More Than 500 gms Psychotropic Substances

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Pulwama Police successfully arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered a significant quantity of psychotropic substances during their operations.

A police party from Police Post Newa, while conducting Naka checking at Wurwan, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02DB-4579 which was driven by one namely Shabir Ahmed Chowdary S/o Mir Ali Chowdary R/o Sidhra Jammu. During the search, a substantial quantity of heroin-like substance weighing approximately 305 grams was recovered from the vehicle. Consequently, a case under FIR No. 246/2024 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Pulwama and the investigation is ongoing.

During the course of the investigation, further leads were developed, leading to the arrest of two more individuals identified as Sajad Ahmed Sheikh R/o Nambla Uri and Mudasir Ahmed thoker S/o Gh Hassan Thoker R/o Sonasamil . From one of the accused (Mudasir Ahmed thoker), 264.5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered.
