A 16-year-old student in Class 11, attending a prominent private school in east Delhi, reportedly took his own life on the night between Friday and Saturday at his residence. According to the police, they found a note alongside the boy’s body, expressing his frustration for not meeting his parents’ academic expectations.
The Madhu Vihar police station received a call about the incident at 7.06 am on Saturday. Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered the boy’s body hanging in the bathroom with a rope. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the east district, Amrutha Guguloth, confirmed the presence of the note where the student shared his feelings about academic pressure from his parents.
The boy is survived by his parents and an older sister, who is a student at Delhi University. His father works as an architect.
