Progress of JJM schemes reviewed in Rajouri

The status of Water Supply Schemes taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district Rajouri was today reviewed here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma in presence of Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo.
A comprehensive presentation was made by the Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Rajouri, on the status of implementation. It was informed that 298 schemes have been planned for the district out of which the work on 34 schemes is complete. The infrastructure includes dug-wells, bore-wells, Rapid Sand Filtration Plants, Overhead Tanks, and other allied works.
The meeting discussed the timelines for completing the schemes, focusing on developing remaining water sources and installing pumping machinery to operationalize schemes where storages and other civil structures have already been completed. A team of consultants and District-level Project Monitoring Units (DPMUs) also participated, providing technical advice and monitoring progress at both the UT and district levels.
The meeting underscored the importance of addressing any challenges impeding the progress of the projects. The Deputy Commissioner and Mission Director called for prompt resolution of issues and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders, including contractors, consultants and officials. The meeting further emphasized close monitoring of the ongoing projects to ensure their timely completion.
