The DIG Jammu Shakti Pathak on Tuesday said that they are conducting raids in multiple areas of Jammu city where Rohingya population is staying to check the people who are facilitating these people in availing India govt facilities. He also added that there are people who have given their plots to Rohingyas for living and such people are also under their scrutiny.

Answering a query on involvement of Rohingyas in recent Human Trafficking cases, DIG Jammu Shakti Pathak said: ” There are teams of 7 J&K police stations indulge in this searches and 29-30 areas in Jammu city are being searched”.

Replying to another media query about criminal cases in which Rohingyas are found involved, DIG Jammu said: “We will inform media when our probe will concluded”.

Commenting to a media query on yesterday’s arrest of 6 Rohingyas in Kishtwar, he said,” We are conducting searches and will share the deets later”.

However, J&K Police nabbed three more persons in relation with a case involving Mohd Numaan a  Rohingya man who procured fake Aadhar and ration cards in Poonch district and also married a Poonch native woman in 2013 and had been residing in his father-in-law’s (Nazir Ahmed) in Dhargloon area of Poonch house.

Nazir Ahmad along with two others namely Mohd Sayaf s/o Mohd Hussain and Waseem Akram s/o Mohd Hafeez both r/o Dhargloon area of Poonch were apprehended in this case for aiding Rohingya man.

However, multiple searches are being conducted in different areas of Jammu city today in various settlements of Rohingyas.

In Doda, the J&K police today registered three FIRs against nine Rohingyas, one Bangladeshi national  for unlawfully availing Indian identity documents like, domicile certificates, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, voter ID cards and PAN cards and for illegally staying in Doda.

The accused were identified as  Raheela Begum, Shakeela Begum, Jahan Ara, Meem Bano and Muskan Banoo, Zavaira Begum, Shabnam Begum, Noor Bhar and Zeenat Begum all citizens of Myanmar country.

While six Rohingyas were also arrested from J&K’s Kishtwar district.
