“Priority Passport Issuance for Senior Citizens on Hajj Pilgrimage”

The Regional Passport Office in Srinagar has announced that it will expedite the process of issuing passports to senior citizens who are intending to go on Hajj pilgrimage, with the minimum possible processing time. This decision has been taken to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims in obtaining their passports in a timely and efficient manner.

Briefing the media on the side-lines of a special drive organised by the Regional Passport Office Srinagar on Saturday, Passport Officer, Devender Kumar said that they have decided to issue passport to senior citizens (Above 70) in coming days on priority bases and that will be valid for one year.

“The last date for submitting a passport is on December 10 at Hajj office here. We will be issuing them documents on priority. Even if there are any shortcomings in their documents that will be looked into so that aspirants don’t not face any problem,” said Kumar.

On Tuesday over 400 aspirants participate in the special drive. “Besides any aspirants whose verification is received, a passport is being issued to him or her without any delay,” he said, adding that his office staff is all out to help the aspirants.
