DODA, DECEMBER 6: Prestigious second edition of ‘My Town My Pride’ programme concluded here today in all the three MCs of the district on an optimistic note.
All the three towns of Doda witnessed a gleeful day and people participated with great interest and enthusiasm.
At Doda, Principal Secretary PDD, H. Rajesh Prasad, along with Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan and President MC Doda, Ved Prakash Gupta took stock of various activities, inspected stalls of all the service delivery departments where public got their issues settled on the spot at concerned departmental stalls. He also chaired a meeting on proposed Capex Budget 2023-24.
Principal Secretary inaugurated and dedicated to the public, Truck Terminal at Akram Abad Doda. He laid foundation stone of MRF at Akram Abad Doda.
He distributed certificates and sanction letters of financial assistance among aspiring entrepreneurs, small vendors and street hawkers of MC Doda.
Principal Secretary, accompanied by DC, SSP and President MC Doda, attended the Greh Parvesh ceremonies of newly constructed houses under PMAY Urban scheme. They also participated in a plantation drive held near Ganpat Bridge.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary released a book written by local writer Sana Khan.
A cultural programme and skits organised by Social Welfare and JKAACL departments were also presented on the occasion.
Principal Secretary also interacted with students and staff at Government Higher Secondary School Boys and inaugurated a volley ball match there. He stressed on the students to bring in conceptual clarity in all subjects to achieve the desired success.

The entire programme of MTMP was held in all three MCs under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan.
At Bhaderwah, the function was held at Community Hall Bhaderwah where visiting officer, Raj Kumar Katoch, member, J&K Special Tribunal Jammu Branch, along with ADC Bhaderwah, Chowdhary Dil Mir and MC President, Dr Shahid Mughal, interacted with ULB members and conducted other scheduled activities.
At Thathri town, Visiting Officer, Dr Khalid Hussain Malik, Joint Director Employment Jammu, along with SDM Thathri, Athar Amin Zargar and President MC Thathri, Mansoor Ahmed Batt inspected stalls, met different people and inspected various government offices in the town.
It is pertinent to mention here that ‘My Town My Pride’ programme is an ambitious and innovative initiative of the government to reach out to the people at the grassroots level and strengthen the Urban Local Bodies which inturn ensure deliverance of public services at doorsteps and provides a platform to town people to put their issues before the government.
The visiting officers inspected stalls of all the service delivery departments installed in the three MCs.
Later, the visiting officers had exclusive interaction with ULB members, frontline government functionaries, social activists/NGOs, prominent citizens and others. They had detailed discussion with members of ULBs and public on Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan, Cleanliness Campaigns, Proposed Capex Budget 2023-24 and other social and commercial issues.
Visiting officers along with ULBs visited waste-management facility, community/public toilet facilities, completed and ongoing PMAY-U houses, government assets, community halls, local schools, health institutions, AWCs, banks and water bodies.
They participated in multifarious activities like plantation drives, sports activities, cultural programmes organised in all the three MCs.
The visiting officers also inspected the important ongoing and languishing projects/ works.
