Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually conducted the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel project in Dras. The project involves the construction of a 4.1 km long Twin-Tube tunnel at an altitude of 15,800 feet on the Nimu–Padum–Darcha Road, aiming to enhance connectivity to Leh, Ladakh. Upon completion, the Shinkun La Tunnel will be the world’s highest tunnel.
Earlier, PM Modi paid tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War on the 25th Vijay Diwas.
