Preparations in full swing for LLC matches in MA Stadium

JAMMU, Oct 2: The stage is all set for the highly anticipated 3rd edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) at Jammu’s iconic Maulana Azad Stadium, commencing on October 3. After overcoming initial clearance issues, the stadium is prepared to welcome cricketing legends and fans alike. Extensive preparations are in progress to ensure the smooth execution of this prestigious international event, which features former international cricket stars and is expected to draw large crowds from across the region.
Officials from the Legends League Cricket, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that all formalities with the local administration have been successfully completed. Final preparations are underway to ensure the ground is ready for the opening match, which is set to take place on Thursday evening at 7 PM. The match will feature two star-studded teams, Manipal Tigers and Toyam Hyderabad, promising an exciting spectacle to kick off a series of high-profile matches that will showcase veteran cricketers back on the field.
The ground, including the pitch, is being meticulously prepared by a dedicated team of curators and staff. Approximately 75 people are working around the clock to ensure the stadium is in top condition ahead of the tournament. While sources indicate that significant work still needs to be completed, efforts are being made to ensure everything is set for the opening game. According to officials, the pitch is ready, with curators putting in extra effort to maintain it in peak condition.
As for ticketing, counters at Maulana Azad Stadium will open to the public from tomorrow at 12 PM, allowing fans to purchase physical tickets for the upcoming matches. This offers a convenient option for local cricket enthusiasts, although online ticket sales have been ongoing since September 22, providing early access for fans eager to secure their spots for the much-anticipated games.
In addition to the preparations, players are arriving in Jammu according to the tournament schedule. Two teams arrived in the city yesterday, with two more teams expected tomorrow, further heightening excitement for the 3rd edition of the Legends League Cricket.
The return of international-level T20 matches is also positively impacting local businesses. Inderjeet Khajuria, chairman of the All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA), expressed optimism, stating, “We are really happy that international-level matches are being played in Jammu. Though there are not many advance bookings, but we expecting a surge in the coming days.” Similarly, shopping destinations, restaurants, eateries, and vendors are all set to experience a boost in business activities, contributing to the economic prosperity of the region.
