JK Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore claimed to have successfully discovered and busted a secret concrete hideout, resulting in the retrieval of arms and ammunition. Additionally, two individuals involved in subversive activities have been arrested.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the breakthrough came during the investigation of FIR No. 370/2023 at Police Station Sopore, when certain individuals were summoned for questioning, leading to a valuable piece of information being obtained.
Following this lead, Sopore Police along with Army and CRPF, conducted a search at the suspect’s residence and discovered of a secret concrete hideout within the house of Ab Rashid Najar in Tarzoo, Sopore. The hideout was found to contain various items of arms and ammunition, such as IEDs, a pistol, a pistol magazine, live ammunition, and other incriminating electronic devices.
As a result, Ab Rashid Najar was promptly arrested. During the interrogation, Najar revealed the involvement of another individual, Ab Jameel Larah, from Sopore, in similar subversive activities. A subsequent search was carried out at Larah’s residence by joint teams from Sopore police, the Army, and CRPF. This operation led to the discovery of additional arms and ammunition, such as a pistol, a pistol magazine, pistol rounds, and other incriminating electronic devices and documents.
The official further confirmed that both accused individuals have been arrested, and the investigation is now underway.
