Police seizes drug peddler’s Property worth lakhs

Property belonging to a well-known drug dealer worth Rs 25 lakhs was taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian, south Kashmir.

“Under the direction of SSP Shopian Tanushree, authorities seized a double-storey residential property worth Rs. 25 lakhs, covering an area of 1769.635 square feet. The property, owned by Mahjabeen Banoo, wife of Farooq Ahmad Najar, and located in Stadium Colony Batapora Shopian, was constructed on Shamilat Section 5 land, spanning 6.5 marlas (1769.63 sqft) in Survey No. 952/1 at village Batapora, District Shopian,” a police spokesperson said.

This action was carried out under sections 68-E and 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985, in connection with Case FIR No.21/2024 U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Shopian.

The property was identified as unlawfully obtained during the course of investigations conducted by Shopian Police. It was determined to have been acquired through illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
