Police Held Four Drug Peddlers in Baramulla, Vehicle Seized

Four drug peddlers were arrested by police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday after recovery of heroin-like substance from their possession.

police said that among the four arrested drug peddlers, three were from Srinagar and one from Sopore. Also, the vehicle used in the commission of crime was seized.

They said that the heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of the drug peddlers, weighing around 265 grams.

The accused have been identified as Ashiq Illahi Parray, a resident of Lawaypora HMT Srinagar, Altaf Ahmad Mir, a resident of Warpora Sopore and Mohammad Asif Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Noorbagh Maloora, Srinagar.

Following the arrest of the drug peddlers, police said that a case FIR number 368/2023 under sections of 8/21-29 of NDPS Act was registered at the Police Station Pattan.
