08 February (Gulistan News TV): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan’s main goal is not just to win the ICC Champions Trophy but also to defeat arch-rivals India in their highly anticipated clash on February 23 in Dubai. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium, Sharif emphasized the importance of the upcoming match, saying, “We have a very good side and they have done well in recent times, but the real task now is to not only win the Champions Trophy but also defeat our arch-rival, India. The entire nation stands behind them.”

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches hosted in both Pakistan and the UAE. Due to India’s decision not to play in Pakistan, all of their matches, including the showdown against Pakistan, will be held in Dubai.Historically, India has dominated Pakistan in ICC events, particularly in World Cups. However, Pakistan’s most notable victory against India came in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final. The inauguration of Gaddafi Stadium marked the completion of its renovation in just 117 days. The event featured performances by Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar, and Aima Baig, followed by fireworks, a drum show, and a light show. Several dignitaries, including politicians, PCB officials, PSL franchise owners, and former PCB chairmen Zaka Ashraf and Najam Sethi, attended the event.With the India-Pakistan clash just weeks away, excitement is at an all-time high, and tickets for the match reportedly sold out within minutes.
