PM Modi leaves for historic state visit to US; defence, trade on agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for his crucial visit to the United States this morning from Delhi.  This will be the PM Narendra Modi’s first state visit to the US during his nine-year-long reign as prime minister. He will attend Yoga Day celebrations at the UN HQ in New York and hold talks with US President Joe Biden and address the Joint Session of the US Congress in Washington, DC.

Minutes before leaving for the US, Prime Minister Modi tweeted about his departure and gave an insight about the programmes he will be attending in the US.

He tweeted, “Leaving for USA, where I will attend programmes in New York City and Washington DC. These programmes include Yoga Day celebrations at the UN HQ, talks with US President JoeBiden, address to the Joint Session of the US Congress and more.”

India and the US are poised to unveil a roadmap for industries in the sector to partner closely in co-production, co-development and maintaining supply change during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US.
