Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the inaugural ceremony of the first batch of students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi–Abu Dhabi Campus, emphasizing the commencement of a new chapter in bilateral collaboration between India and the UAE. The event marked a significant milestone in the visionary project, envisioned in February 2022 by the leadership of both countries.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of this collaboration, stating, “This not only begins a new chapter in bilateral collaboration between India and the UAE but also brings the youth from the two countries together.”
During PM Modi’s visit to Abu Dhabi on July 15, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, formalising the establishment of the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
The campus, situated in Abu Dhabi, kicked off its academic journey with its first program offering, a Master’s in Energy Transition and Sustainability, commencing this January. This initiative is poised to provide quality education in cutting-edge fields and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two nations.
