Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Delhi (Anand Vihar)-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express today. This is the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand.

He said that India is being watched with great hope and the world wants to come and see India. “The world wants to come to India to see India, and to understand the essence of India. In such a situation, there are excellent opportunities for states like Uttarakhand. Vande Bharat train is also going to help Uttarakhand to take full advantage of this opportunity”.

“Uttarakhand’s connectivity is all set to get a big boost. At 11 AM today, I will be flagging off the Express between Delhi and Dehradun. Making the occasion even more special is the feat of 100% electrification of Uttarakhand’s rail tracks. Do join the programme,” PM Modi tweeted in the morning.

The regular run of the Delhi-Dehradun express  will start on May 29, according to the railways’ website.

The train will cover a distance of 302 km in 4 hours and 45 minutes. The train will run all days of the week except Wednesday.
