Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended an invitation to his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese and Australian fans to watch the Cricket World Cup and the Diwali celebrations in India later this year. The Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in India in October-November. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on November 12.

PM Modi, ween them in Sydney. Invoking cricket, PM Modi said India-Australia ties have entered “T20 mode”. “This is our sixth meeting in the past one year. This reflects the depth of our comprehensive relations and the maturity of our ties. In the language of cricket, our ties have entered T20 mode,” PM Modi stressed.

The Prime Minister said he and PM Albanese discussed the attack on temples by separatist elements in Austrlia  in the bilateral meeting. He said such elements would not be tolerated that could jeopardise the relations between India and Australia.

He also said that PM Albanese assured him of taking strict action against such elements. “We will not accept any elements that harm the friendly and warm ties between the India-Australia relationship by their actions or thoughts. PM Albanese assured me once again today that he will take strict actions against such elements in the future also,” PM Modi said.
