PM Modi highlighted India’s desire for its neighboring countries to progress on the “path of prosperity and peace,” and reiterated that India will continue to support Bangladesh in its development journey. He also mentioned that the recent violence in Bangladesh, which started as protests over government job quotas and escalated into anti-government unrest, has particularly impacted the Hindu community, with incidents of mob violence, vandalism, and lynching reported.
The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore India’s commitment to the welfare of minorities in the region and its hope for the swift normalization of the situation in Bangladesh.
