At least five people, including three children, were killed after the pick-up van they were travelling in hit a divider in Adilabad district in Telangana on Monday. Four others sustained injuries in the accident.
The incident took place near the Mekalagandi Corner in Gudihatnur Mandal in Adilabad, at around midnight. The vehicle, carrying eight people, was traveling from Bhainsa in Nirmal district to Adilabad when it hit the divider.The victims include Moiz, 60, Ali, 8, Khaja Moinuddin, 40, Mohammad Usmanuddin, 11, and Farid, 12. Farid died after he was admitted to the hospital, which the others died on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Adilabad RIMS Hospital. All the victims and the injured are relatives of a single family residing in the Teachers’ Colony in Adilabad town.
The police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
