Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the PDP, has requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to rethink his decision to ban the contractors due to humanitarian considerations.
After meeting a group of contractors who had recently been placed on the UT administration’s blacklist, the former chief minister, according to a press release, also wrote a letter to LG in this regard.

“The letter criticises the administration’s choice to put contractors on a blacklist based on flimsy allegations of ties to extremists.
The majority of the contractors the LG administration has blacklisted don’t have a history of extremism or engagement in violent behaviour, according to Mehbooba’s scathing letter. Others had abandoned the militant route long before they became contractors, according to the press statement.
It was also mentioned that the letter emphasises the established policy.
