The six-day visit of the Parliamentary Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs to Jammu and Kashmir is set to commence from April 26 and continue until May 1, 2025. In preparation, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed 25 officers as Liaison Officers to facilitate the committee’s engagements across the Union Territory.
Government sources confirmed that the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs will undertake a comprehensive visit to various parts of Jammu and Kashmir during this period. To ensure smooth coordination, an official order issued on Saturday outlines the deployment of Liaison Officers drawn from diverse departments across both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Among the officers appointed for Jammu Division are Abhishake Abrol (Additional Secretary, School Education), Harpal Singh, Rachna Sharma (Information Technology Department), Sheetal Pandita (Rural Development Department), and Manisha (Directorate of School Education).
For the Kashmir Division, the assigned officers include Owais Mushtaq (Health & Medical Education Department), Nuzhat Khurshid (Tourism Department), Ata-ul Munim Tak, Shabnam Rashid (State Taxes Department), Raeis Ahmad Bhat, Shurjeel Ali Naiku, Mir Zahida (IMPA&RD), Najwan Nazki (FCS&CA Department), Suhail ul Islam (Secretary, Srinagar Municipal Corporation), Sartaj Hussain (Estates Department), Mantasha Binti Rashid (Rural Sanitation Department), Ajaz Ahmad Shah, Bashir Ahmad Lone (GM DIC Kulgam), Nasir Mehmood Khan (Tourism Department), and Syed Nadeem Iqbal Andrabi (Industries & Commerce Department).
The government order also directs the appointed officers to report to the respective Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir on April 23, 2025, for a detailed briefing regarding their roles and responsibilities during the high-profile visit.
The panel’s visit is expected to cover a range of issues related to development, security, and administration in the Union Territory.
