To curb the irregularities during the execution of the “Supply and Installation of Power Fencing System across 10 jails” project in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, the government has sanctioned the formation of a three-member fact-finding committee that would submit their report within one month.
It has been directed to investigate the matter thoroughly, and is composed of the following members, Director General Prisons J&K , Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, FA/CAO, Home Department as its two members.
As per the GAD order, the committee has been mandated to scrutinise all aspects of the case, encompassing the actions taken by the Prisons Department officials during the issuance of the Supply Order.
Additionally, it will investigate the process followed for allotting the CMC/AMC Contract, especially concerning adherence to the terms and conditions stipulated in the tender for the project.
“The committee shall fix the responsibility for acts of omission & commission on the part of the officers/officials of the Prisons Organisation. The committee shall furnish its report to the Government along with recommendations, within a period of 30 days,” it said.
