DBU Excellence Awards: On January 25, 2023, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, hosted a one-day workshop on NEP 2020 Challenges and Opportunities in Quality Education and DBU Excellence Awards. The honourable chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh, Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, and other dignitaries of the university also graced the occasion.
The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the DBU Anthem. Dr. L. S. Bedi, Dean of Academics, provided the formal introduction to the event.. Ms. Navinder Kaur gave the presentation on DBU. The keynote address was given by Dr. Sanjay Kaushik, Professor at the University Business School, Punjab University, Chandigarh. The other keynote speakers included Dr. J. K. Sharma, Director IEDC, Colonel Pardeep Kumar, Additional Director COE, and Dr. Umesh Garg, Deputy Director Research. In his presentation on NEP-2020 Colonel Pardeep Kumar, Additional Director COE, informed everyone of the latest advancements and difficulties. Dr. J. K. Sharma gave a presentation on startups. Along with this, he also talked about the importance of startups. Dr. Umesh Garg, Deputy Director of Research, gave a presentation on the research activities of DBU. A cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion.
On this occasion, a total of 70 principals and 88 professors from various colleges and universities in Punjab were honored with the DBU Excellence Award for their remarkable contribution in the field of education. On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, said that the importance of education cannot be denied, but respect for the teacher who imparted the same education is equally important. Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti said that Desh Bhagat University is making students proficient in every field by using NEP-2020. The key note speakers were felicitated by Dr. Zora Singh. Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti gave a vote of thanks to all. The event concluded with the national anthem.
