A notorious drug supplier was booked under NDPS act by the Akhnoor police.
An information was received at PS Akhnoor regarding presence of one notorious criminal/Drug peddler namely Vivek Kumar @ Sunny s/o Satish Kumar r/o Ward NO.08 Akhnoor Jammu, who was involved in cases of drug peddling and evading his arrest for the last one month in the area.
On this information police team of ps Akhnoor headed by *SHO police station Akhnoor Tariq Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan sharma raided the location of accused and managed to arrest the said accused.
It is pertinent to mention that a warrant under PITNDPS vide order No. 08 of 2024 dated 25/01/2024 under section 3 has already been issued against the accused by Divisonal commissioner Jammu after receiving the dossier from district police against the drug trader.
The said accused was habitual of indulging in criminal activities and there were various NDPS Act cases in which accused was involved. Details of the cases are as under :-
(1) Case FIR No. 256/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of P/S Akhnoor
(2) Case FIR No 09/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of P/S Domana
(3) Case FIR No 324/2023 U/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of P/s Akhnoor.
(4) Case FIR No. 205/2013 U/S 341/323/34 RPC of PS Akhnoor
(5) Case FIR NO.172/2016 U/S 48 (f) of police station Akhnoor.
Finally today the warrant was executed and the accused was sent to District Jail Kathua.
Jammu police under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu is making every possible efforts to eradicate drug menace from the society and urges local people to provide information regarding the persons involved in such activities.
