No serious discussion on national politics: Naveen Patnaik after meeting with Mamata Baner

Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee pitched for a strong federal structure after their bilateral meeting on Thursday. However, he played down any “serious discussion” with the Trinamool Congress chief pertaining to national politics.

CM Patnaik, in a joint press conference with Mamata Banerjee, said India’s federal structure should remain permanent.When asked if maintaining equal distance with the Congress party and the BJP was also part of the discussion in the meeting, the Odisha chief minister said that only informal discussion took place.

Mamata Banerjee, in line with Naveen Patnaik, reiterated that the federal structure of the country should be strengthened.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at her Kolkata residence.
