The Jammu & Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that it has no plans to provide stipend to unemployed youth in the Union Territory. In a written response to a question of MLA Samba Devinder Kumar Manyal, Minister in-charge Labour & Employment Surinder Choudhary informed the House that there is no plan to provide stipend to unemployed youth in the Union Territory.
“Currently there is no such plan to provide a stipend to the unemployed youth in the UT of J&K,” the minister said.
Listing out steps to provide employment to unemployed youth, the minister said all the departments refer their vacant posts after fulfillment of codal formalities to Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission and Services Selection Board. “The Employment Department is organizing career counselling on a regular basis for unemployed youth that helps them to explore career options in different avenues,” he said.
