The SSP Traffic, Muzaffar Shah, has announced the full activation of the E-Challan system in Srinagar to enforce stricter traffic regulations and ensure road safety.
In a recent statement, Shah emphasized that warnings for traffic violations are now a thing of the past. “No more warnings. It is time for strict compliance. The E-Challan system is now fully operational in Srinagar,” he said, urging motorists to adhere to traffic rules and maintain discipline on the roads.
The system uses advanced surveillance cameras and automated mechanisms to identify violations, including overspeeding, signal jumping, and wrong parking. Offenders will be issued challans electronically, which can be paid online.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance traffic management and reduce accidents in the city. Citizens have been advised to follow traffic norms and ensure proper documentation while driving.
The SSP also appealed to the public for cooperation, stating that road safety is a shared responsibility.
