NLCO to start phase III of Mission Ehsaas for Gilsar Lake cleaning

NLCO (Nageen Lake Conservation Organisation) announces the beginning of Phase III of Mission Ehsaas for the cleansing of Gilsar. This initiative, which is a collaborative effort between NLCO, the administration, stakeholders, and eco-warriors, is set to commence on May 10th, 2023. The initiative will be joined by University of Kashmir, NIIT Srinagar, private schools association and green citizens.

Following the tremendous response during of Khushalsar’s cleansing, NLCO aims to continue its efforts towards enhancing the condition of the lakes in Srinagar. President NLCO Manzoor Wangnoo said “Mission Ehsaas has been widely acclaimed as a public-led campaign, and the rejuvenation of Gilsar is expected to open up new avenues for the betterment of this urban lake.”

To ensure the success of this campaign, NLCO is collaborating with SMC, and they are calling on all interested parties to join them in this worthy cause. The inaugural event will be held on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Gilsar, and NLCO has warmly welcomed all to attend. Commissioner SMC will be the chief guest at the event.

Speaking about the initiative, a Wangnoo for NLCO said, “Let us unite in our efforts to make a positive difference and contribute towards safeguarding our natural assets. We invite all stakeholders, eco-warriors, and the general public to join us in this cause as we work towards the cleansing of Gilsar.”

Wangnoo added “NLCO is committed to preserving the natural beauty of the lakes in Srinagar, and with the support of the community, we believe that we can achieve their goal of creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The Phase III of Mission Ehsaas is a step towards achieving this goal, and we are looking forward to working with all stakeholders towards the success of this campaign.”
